Join New College of Florida and the Florida String Quartet on Saturday, April 23 for an exciting performance bringing together student composers and professional musicians. The concert, which is open to the public, will begin at 4:00 PM and will be held in Sainer Auditorium on New College campus.

2005 marks the fourth year of this exciting collaboration between the New College Music Program and Florida West Coast Symphony, an activity allowing advanced student composers to work with and learn from the Symphony's resident chamber ensembles. New College students Taylor Briggs, Tara Nixon, and Emily Payne (all third-year music students) have worked throughout the year with FSQ musicians Christopher K. Takeda, Daniel Jordan, Yuri Vasilaki and Christopher Pegis. During the rehearsals, FSQ musicians rehearse the students� original works, and offer pointers in the craft of composition.
