I was a member of the Florida Orchestra, a regional symphony orchestra based in Tampa Bay from 1982 until 2002. About 8 years ago a great teacher named Francois Rabbath introduced me to a new approach to playing the Double Bass. At around the same time I began to study yoga and to practice yoga and the New Technique for the Double Bass on a daily basis. As time went on I noticed the urge to do some kind of community service. I kept hearing this message over and over from deep inside my meditations until finally I began to volunteer at The Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute here in Tampa, Florida. There I met other expressive artists already engaged in this type of work who welcomed me and guided me toward certified training as a Music Practitioner. I completed my certification this past year and continue to work regularly with patients at the Moffitt Cancer Center.
