John's current work deals with implied actions in space and the power of the stark and raw. He takes a minimal approach to image making in which the viewer admires the psychological depth of the image as opposed to a photo-realistic quality. The obviousness of the syntax, artist's hand in the mark-making, evokes a universality of experience and purports to revitalize interest in life and contemplation.

At the reception enjoy an ongoing mix of 20th century classical, ambient, and experimental electronic music that influences John's work and at 11:00 pm hear a live guitar duet performed by Ryan Pate and John Russell.

A collection of the drawings on display will also be available, in reproduction, for sale in limited edition hand-bound books.
