And we have brought it upon ourselves, by refusing to accept the complexity of the world, by letting ourselves to be bullied and seduced by those who appeal to our dark side, by refusing to accept that evil doesn’t always wear the black hat. We have let the Harry Powells of the world lead us to the edge. Night of the Hunter dramatizes this seduction into madness by using images of a natural world just as did the film of the same name. The film does not reduce to a single idea, but it speaks most articulately about evil’s capacity to arouse and attract and to resemble everything we are most comfortable with. This exhibition likewise attempts to show the dark forces within us as they are: beautiful, seductive, elegantly compressed, and ultimately corrosive. | Artists involved order list by : First NameLast Name
