2006 | about : Sweeping splashes of paint cover the canvas at random to produce a powerful and vibrant abstract plane. Using an impasto style, Trinity works and reworks the canvas, each new layer of paint building upon the previous layer much like the experiences which have built and shaped his existence. Canvas transforms into a vehicle for controlled emotion, expressed in powerful colors and rich textures which will make the final product quiver with vitality. What began with chaotic, expressive strokes gradually evolves into methodical, purposeful application of paint, which results in the representational. Introspection into his own being during this whole process is evident by his tendency to gravitate towards the human element in much of his work. Surface texture and balance are central to his work, as is the emotive value of color. |
