I have always been interested in art and remember wanting to be an artist at a very early age. As a child I had a keen sense of perspective and an innate ability to draw and sculpt.

A printing company transfered me to Tampa, Florida in 1984 after graduating from the University of Louisiana, where I studied advertising and design. While enrolled in that curriculm I also studied ceramics, sculpture, drawing and painting, although I am basically a self-taught painter.

I am self-employed as a printer and designer working for a select clientele of very loyal customers. If I have time at the end of the day after I am finished working, I turn my attention to painting.

My paintings evolve from ideas and images that are of interest to me and and are mostly from my own reference materials and sources, whether it be my photographs, images I've composed and scanned to manipulate with a computer or from direct observation. I often use a camera to document and archive images, making interpretations with sketches until I have a pleasing and viable picture to work from, along with other backup photographs as reference for color and perspective.

I challenge myself with new ideas and often paint something completely different each time.
